Questions and answers
Where does the paisley pattern come from?
The origins of the paisley pattern can be traced back to ancient Persia (modern-day Iran), where it was known as “boteh” or “buta.” The term “boteh” means “cluster of leaves” in Persian, which is reflective of the pattern’s distinctive shape. The Victorian era in Europe saw a craze for paisley-patterned items, especially shawls. The design became a symbol of status and fashion, and it was incorporated into various Victorian garments, accessories, and home decor.
How much does the paisley fabric weigh?
It’s one of our most lightweight fabrics and a size Medium robe weighs 0.7 kg or 1.5 lbs
What fabrics do you use?
For our paisley pieces, we use a lightweight faux silk jacquard (polyester and viscose mix) that is almost indistinguishable from silk. Our paisley designs have a luxurious look with the advantage of being very easy to care for, as the fabrics are fully machine washable.
