We decided to address the fakes on Etsy, Amazon, and other stores and platforms such as “Uppa Echelon”, eBay and more. For some years, various sellers on popular marketplaces like Etsy and Amazon and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify have been using our product photography to promote and sell what appears to be velvet robes or other items from our catalogue. The number of these instances has grown over the past year and we decided to explain this situation, to avoid confusion and hopefully prevent any more customers from being taken advantage of.
These sellers take our product photography, erase our label and then post product offerings on their marketplace store or e-commerce site. We want to make it clear that Baturina Homewear is in no way associated with these sellers, as we sell exclusivily through our official Etsy webshop and our own e-commerce site.
Our velvet and wool robes are affected the most, with rare instances of other designs being used. The website Uppa Echelon (which is no longer active) had used our entire product catalogue including photography and brand name without permission.
If you happen to find product listings using our photography or brand name on any other websites, please be aware it is a fake offering and is either a fraud or duplicate product of low quality. Hence these products are usually offered at a lower price. That is, if there is any real product being sold at all.
In some instances, sellers on Etsy such as KaceryDesigner have started out using our photography without permission, then continued to photograph their duplicates of our products and promote it as their own. From the quilted trim, striped piping to monogram embroidery and color schemes, this seller has developed an entire business around replicating our product.
The fake sellers in question watch us closely and have stolen product photography over the years, which is why both old and newer photos are used on product listings across Amazon, eBay, Etsy and more. This means that even designs which we no longer make, are still “offered” somewhere on various marketplaces. Baturina Homewear is not the only brand affected by this issue, as these sellers often steal photography from multiple sources. In our case, some sellers have stolen our entire catalogue of velvet and wool robe photographs.
We have no power to take down those listings, due to the global scale of this issue, so instead we want to spread awareness and warn our customers about potential frauds.
