Cotton is a plant fiber. It grows around the seed of the cotton plant. It is durable, breathable, does not gather static electricity, absorbs and releases moisture or smells quickly. It has been grown for more than 6000 years is known around the world since 1500.
Wool is a natural protein fiber obtained from sheep and one of the oldest fibres known in history. It’s well known for holding warmth.
Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles.
Polyester is a soft synthetic fiber derived from petroleum. It takes dye well and therefore has a wide color range. It is very durable and dries quickly. Invented in the 1930s-1940s.
Viscose, also known as Rayon, is a regenerated fiber. One of the first semi-synthetic fibres, invented in 1890. Viscose is a type of soft and silky rayon, made from wood pulp or cotton linter.
Jacquard is of one or multiple colours, used to create simple or complex patterns. Unlike a print, where the motif is applied on top of the surface, the jacquard pattern is entirely woven-in.
Satin is smooth, silky and very shiny. The degree of shine depends on the fiber. In our collection satin is widely used for the lining and trimmings.
Velvet retains warmth very well and absorbs smells. Cotton velvet is a napped, heavy fabric with a very high pile length, producing an intense color and extremely soft touch. Silk velvet is more shiny and much thinner. Chenille velvet is a type of knitted fabric, it is more fuzzy and has protruding fibers. In crushed velvet, the pile faces different directions, resulting in a “distorted” look.
Flannel is a plain, napped fabric. It has a pleasant soft feel to it and retains heat very well.
Plain woven fabric is strong and firm, with an even surface. Available in lightweight and heavier types. In our collection, you can find such plain fabric as the exterior of pajamas or robes, or lining, in solid colors or with a print.
Waffle Picqué is a very absorbent fabric. The name is based on its structure and appearance, which result in a waffle pattern.
Flocking is a technique in which a fabric has another layer of fiber on top of it, imitating another surface, usually velvet.
Brocade is another version of jacquard where metallic thread is added. It has a distinct slightly rough texture, due to the use of metallic thread.

At first, let’s introduce ourselves. Baturina Homewear is a family business from Hamburg, Germany and we operate an online store where you’ll find the finest robes, pajamas and accessories for men. Let’s take a look at our work process behind the scenes. All products are made from start to finish by skilled experts in our own studio in Hamburg, Germany.
It all started in the late 2010s, when we noticed something is missing in the wardrobe: a fashionable cover-up for lounging at home. That’s when we discovered vintage dressing gowns, smoking jackets and pajamas, which can be seen in many Hollywood films. The traditional of these garments dates far back to the 17th century and our collections are heavily inspired by robes and pajamas across decades. In our robe and pajamas, you can relax with style in the comfort of your own home.
In our custom design tool, you can choose from many different fabrics and styles, like patterns, colors, piping and tassels.
