A Small Team with A Clear Mission

We’re a small, close-knit team, working side by side every day to create truly special garments for people around the world.

Natalia is the technical expert in our atelier. She hand-cuts each garment with precision – a process that lays the foundation for the perfect fit and feel.

Our two seamstresses, Olga and Irina, each sew garments from start to finish. There’s no assembly line, no division of labor. Each piece is made by a single pair of skilled hands with care and attention to every detail.

Anna, co-founder and managing director, personally handles customer service, responds to every inquiry, and manages orders with patience and professionalism – always with an open ear for individual needs.

Every piece we make is proudly Made in Germany – in our own atelier in Hamburg. Unlike most modern brands, we do not outsource any part of our production. From fabric cutting to the final stitch, everything is done in-house by a small, dedicated team. Our two seamstresses, Olga and Irina, and co-founder Natalia each have over 30 years of experience in tailoring. Their combined knowledge and expertise are the foundation of everything we create.

Each item – whether a cotton robe, velvet dressing gown, or quilted pajama set – is made to order, one piece at a time. This slow, thoughtful approach allows us to meet individual requests, custom sizing, and bespoke designs while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship. We believe that clothing should be personal, well-fitting, and long-lasting – not mass-produced.

Our pieces are worn in homes from New York to Tokyo, from London to Sydney – by people who appreciate the value of something made slowly, with care and character.

At Baturina Homewear, we are proud to be among the few remaining ateliers in Europe that create garments from scratch, by hand, and with heart – every single day.

How It All Started

The story of Baturina Homewear began with a simple, heartfelt intention: to find an elegant robe as a gift. When Natalia Tishchenko set out to buy a robe for her grandmother, she was surprised to discover how difficult it was to find something truly refined – a dressing gown that felt both classic and luxurious.

Frustrated by the lack of elegant options, she turned to her roots in sewing. A talented seamstress with over 30 years of experience, Natalia came across vintage robe patterns and a 1950s sewing book filled with timeless loungewear designs for men and women. Inspired by these graceful silhouettes, she began crafting robes herself – first as personal gifts for family and friends, each one handmade with care, charm, and craftsmanship.

At the time, Natalia was well known in her Hamburg neighborhood for her local tailoring work. But it was her daughter, Anna, who saw the potential to take these beautiful pieces further. She suggested sharing the robes online – and to their surprise, the response was immediate and enthusiastic.

They soon discovered a growing community of robe enthusiasts from around the world – individuals who appreciated the art of slow fashion and the comfort of high-quality homewear. With every order and every new customer, Natalia and Anna refined their designs, guided by real-life feedback and the unique wishes of each client.

Over time, they came to understand something essential: a robe is an intensely personal garment. It’s not just about how it looks – it’s about how it feels, fits, and lives with the wearer. That insight shaped the foundation of the brand.

From day one, Baturina Homewear has been committed to a made-to-order approach. Every robe is crafted individually in their Hamburg atelier – from cutting to stitching – with no outsourcing, no mass production, and no compromises. What began as a gift has become a brand built on tradition, craftsmanship, and a passion for robes that mean something.
