In the past months, we’ve been steadily adding new home accessories to our collection. One of the newest additions is the teapot warmer.

Tea is one of the most consumed beverages in the world. Now, as a true tea connoisseur, you wouldn’t want your freshly brewed earl grey or dragon pearl jasmin to turn cold too quickly. That’s where a teapot cover, or tea cosy, comes into play.

What is a tea warmer, or tea cozy?

But first, what is a teapot warmer (or British: tea cosy)? It is soft fabric cover made from a thick fabric that helps retain the heat coming from the teapot. You can find them in all kinds of shapes and sizes and often they are highly decorative, knitted or sewn. A teapot warmer is both a handy kitchen gadget and eye-catching accessory for your home.

How does a tea warmer work?

The purpose of a tea warmer is to stop heat from escaping from the hot tea, and the insulating fabric helps to do this. Our warmers are made from the same fabric as the quilted shawls of our dressing gowns. They’re made from a thick cotton satin, that is quilted and filled with a layer of fleece. Additionally, it is fully cotton lined inside. With such warming fabrics, you can serve hot tea for many hours. We have tested the warmers many times in our studio and it will keep the beverage warm for up to six hours.
